Join us as we explore the magical, mystery world of Willy Wonka's famous chocolate factory and meet Charlie, a little boy with big dreams.

PS261 is directing a full-length play of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this upcoming season, and we are inviting you to be a part of this well-loved children's story by Roald Dahl. Everyone is invited to audition or volunteer in making this show a success!

We are looking for children to play all of the main characters: Charlie, Willy Wonka, Grandpa Joe, and the gang. Oh, and don't forget the oompa-loompas!

We will be holding a brief meet-and-greet and introduction to the show on Friday, January 11th at 2:50 in the auditorium. Auditions will be the following Tuesday, January 15th and Wednesday, January 16th, from 3pm-6pm; call-backs will be held Friday, January 18th. Times will be given for those who are called-back.

Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 3pm-6pm beginning Tuesday, January 22nd. Rehearsals will be mandatory, unless an excuse is provided in advance. The dates of the show are March 28 & 29, 2008.

Please RSVP to chocolatefactory261@gmail.com by December 21st if your child will audition and on which day. Please also respond on whether your child will attend the meet-and-greet so that we may have enough packets for everyone. Only RSVP's with child's full name, grade, and contact information will be accepted. Also, please remember that if your child will not be able to make the dates of the show, we will not be able to cast them in a role.

While we will do our best to cast everyone in the most fitting roles, we are unable to guarantee that each child will get the part that he or she wants. Nevertheless, we will need all the help we can get with costumes, props, set design, and countless other aspects so if you or your child are interested, we would love your help! Let's bring Wonka's magical, candy-coated world to PS261!
