PS 261 PTA After School Program - Job Openings

The PS261 After School Committee seeks to employ an Assistant to the Director to work directly with Michael Jasmin and for the PS261 PTA sponsored After School Program for the school year 2006-2007. Title: Assistant to the Director
Reports to: Director

Key Responsibilities: Assists Director by interacting with families, assisting with program registration and confirmation process, collecting monthly payments and recording payments on tracking sheet. Maintains program files and orders supplies as requested by administrator or teachers; provides administrative support for Director and program including but not limited to: answering telephone; relaying messages; photocopying. Is responsible for relating information on payments and billing to the bookkeeper and getting payments to the After School Treasurer for deposit. Collects various expense receipts or bills, relays information to the bookkeeper and gets receipts to After School Treasurer for checks to be written. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director to ensure the efficient functioning of the program. Maintains regular and ongoing communication and information sharing with the bookkeeper.

Qualifications and other Requirements:
. 4 hours daily primarily when program is in operation, as well as additional hours before and after the program, as required (approximately 20 hours/week)
. Strong administrative, communication and multitasking skills
. Strong management skills
. Prior experience working with young adults, administering and managing program and staff
