PS 261 Boogies Down

Cha-cha slide, dance-freeze, limbo, freestyle -- it all came together at PS 261's fourth annual Danceathon on Saturday January 20. With a live DJ and professional dance instructor on hand, 70 students danced the afternoon away, raising $3,016 in pledges. A pizza or ice cream party was awarded to the two classes that raised the most: K-124 with $475 and 1-212 with $355.

The PTA will put the funds toward student enrichment expenses such as lunch aides and teachers' supplies. An additional $569 raised from the sale of snacks and other goods at the event will go toward fifth grade graduation expenses.
