Summer Reading '09
A Special Letter from Ms. Danielle, PS261 Librarian
|
June 2009
Dear PS 261 Parent(s),
Learning shouldn’t stop just because the summer is here! Take your
child to your local public library and sign them up for the summer
reading program. Check out the public library’s summer reading list
and ask a librarian to suggest additional reading materials. Go
to www.summerreading.org
for more information.
Have an inquisitive child? Go to
www.school.eb.com to access
Encyclopedia Britannica. We have a one-year subscription to this
site. Take advantage! The username and password are both:
nycdoe.
Going away for the summer and can’t make it to the public library?
Go to www.childrenlibrary.org
to visit the International Children’s Digital Library. At this
site your child can read books cover to cover AND read books in
other languages.
Have a wonderful summer and READ, READ, READ!
Sincerely,
Ms. Danielle
Librarian
