The PS 261 Library is Back in Full Swing!
I am very excited to announce that the PS 261 library has come back to life! My
name is Danielle Taylor Brocco and I will be the librarian this year. This is
my sixth year here at PS 261 in which I have taught fourth grade, Kindergarten
and Library.
Classes will be held for grades Kindergarten through Fifth. Even if your child
is not scheduled to come regularly with their class there will be plenty of
opportunities for your child to come and visit the school library. Each day there is an Open Access period in which teachers can bring their classes in to check out books, conduct research or use the Smart board for lessons. There will also be a time between 8-8:30 AM when children can come and check out books or simply relax with a good book before their big day begins. Not only will I hold library classes but I will also organize school wide literacy events. Our first literacy event will be: Characters on Parade. This fantastic event will take place on Halloween day, October 31st. Children will be able to dress up as a character from one of their favorite books. A school parade will take place and prizes will be awarded. Check out Literacy Corner where literacy events for the school and in the neighborhood will be posted in the Main Hallway. If you would like to continue to be a part of the library committee please drop me a note in my school mailbox. Any help is greatly appreciated! |
